American Trim is seeking experienced Heavy Truck Stamping Press Operators to set up and run large stamping presses for bumper and grille production on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

This hands-on role requires mechanical aptitude, blueprint-reading, and a commitment to safety and quality. You will work with automated equipment, perform die changes, and monitor presses to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Previous stamping press or die setup experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Able to read blueprints.
  • Ability to learn die setup procedures.
  • Experience in production with schedules.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Quality inspection ability.

Responsibilities

1st, 2nd & 3rd Shift Opportunities

American Trim is seeking experienced and mechanically inclined Heavy Truck Stamping Press Operators to support our bumper and grille manufacturing operations. This is a hands‑on manufacturing position working with large stamping presses ranging from 90 to 1,600 tons and automated/robotic production equipment. Operators are responsible for setting and changing dies, operating and monitoring the press line, inspecting finished parts and troubleshooting production concerns to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Schedule & Pay

1st Shift: 5:55 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday–Friday

2nd Shift: 1:55 PM – 10:00 PM, Monday–Friday

3rd Shift: 9:55 PM – 6:00 AM, Sunday–Thursday

All shifts include overtime as needed. Scheduled hours may flex based on operational needs.

Base Pay: $20.55 per hour + depending on experience

Shift Differential: Additional $1.50 per hour for 2nd and 3rd shift

Job Summary

The Heavy Truck Stamping Press Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of large stamping presses and automated/robotic press work cells used in the production of bumpers and grilles for semi‑trucks and other heavy‑duty vehicles. This position coordinates press operations, performs die setups and changeovers, monitors equipment and tooling, and performs required quality checks to ensure parts are produced safely, efficiently and according to established specifications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate stamping presses ranging from approximately 90 to 1,600 tons and associated automated/robotic equipment.
  • Perform die setups and changeovers according to established procedures and production schedules.
  • Coordinate and monitor press and work‑cell operations to maintain safe and efficient production.
  • Perform visual and dimensional quality checks to ensure finished parts meet established specifications.
  • Monitor dies, lubrication, part location and scrap buildup during production and communicate tooling or equipment concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and communicate production, tooling and quality issues to supervision, Tooling, Quality and other appropriate support personnel.
  • Follow established job setup, operating and safety procedures, including applicable JSA, ESA and ASA requirements.
  • Complete die changes within established timeframes to support production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Follow applicable environmental procedures and requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Previous stamping press, press setup, die setup or related heavy manufacturing experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent preferred.
  • High school‑level reading and writing skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong manual dexterity.
  • Knowledge of stamping presses, dies and setup operations preferred.
  • Ability to learn and safely perform die setup and changeover procedures.
  • Experience working in a production environment with established production schedules and rates preferred.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, percentages, decimals and thousandths.
  • Blueprint reading experience helpful.
  • Ability to perform visual and dimensional quality inspections.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with Production, Tooling, Quality and other team members.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, work instructions and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, productivity and dependability.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to:

  • Stand, walk and move throughout the assigned production area for extended periods of time.
  • Bend, reach, stoop, turn, twist, push and pull while setting up and operating equipment.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a non‑repetitive basis.
  • Apply physical force as required to position and slide dies across press bolster plates during setup and changeover activities.
  • Perform repetitive turning, reaching and/or lifting movements associated with press operations.
  • Perform work requiring manual dexterity, hand‑eye coordination and close visual attention.
  • Work around large stamping presses, automated/robotic equipment, dies and other industrial machinery.
  • Work with and around lubricants, oils and grease associated with press and tooling operations.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment that may include noise, varying temperatures and other conditions associated with heavy industrial equipment.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including eye, hearing, foot and other protective equipment as required.
  • Work weekday and weekend overtime and adjusted hours as required by operational needs.
