Job summary

Childers Auto & Truck Parts Inc in Kentucky seeks a Heavy Truck Mobile Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks at customer locations and breakdown sites. You will operate in the field, ensure safety, and provide high-quality service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks or commercial equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, and diagnostics.
  • Experience with electronic diagnostic software and scan tools.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • ASe or OEM certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Must be willing to be on call 24/7 w/ scheduled time off.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and commercial vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, air brake systems, suspension, steering, driveline, cooling, HVAC, and hydraulic systems.
  • Respond to roadside service calls and emergency breakdowns.
  • Complete inspections and identify repair recommendations.
  • Use diagnostic software and specialized tools to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
  • Accurately document work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
  • Maintain inventory of service truck tools, equipment, and repair parts.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
  • Follow all DOT, OSHA, environmental, and company safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully operational mobile service vehicle.

Heavy Truck Mobile Technician
Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Truck Mobile Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and commercial equipment at customer locations and at breakdown location. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, safety-conscious, and capable of providing high-quality repairs while working independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities
