Qualifications

• 3‑5 years’ experience in heavy‑duty truck applications
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems used in heavy‑duty equipment
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work alone
• Must have own tools
• Valid driver’s license
• Proficiency with multiple scanning tools for diagnostics
• Ability to use and interpret technical manuals
• Basic computer skills
• CDL preferred (not required)
• Knowledge of DOT inspections and full understanding of pre/post‑trip requirements

Job Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose heavy‑duty trucks and other equipment
• Repair and/or replace defective parts, components, or systems
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation
• Travel to remote sites to perform field repairs and preventative maintenance on internal and external trucks
• Document steps taken in work orders and list supplies used
• Occasional welding on equipment as needed
• Work out of shop when not on service calls

Preferred

• Completion of a technical certification program for mobile heavy equipment repair
• Mobile mechanic experience
• Supervisory experience
