AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese, and butter is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese, butter, and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail, and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled buttermakers and cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report employee safety, food safety, and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
• Perform duties such as cheese trimmer, palletizer, trim handling, cool rack loaves, case packing, production checking, feeding, stacking, slicing, and load hauling.
• Operate packaging equipment efficiently and safely.
• Monitor procedures and working conditions to prevent product contamination or waste.
• Communicate effectively with plant personnel.
• Verify quality control items such as product weights, coding, uniformity, and packaging.
• Maintain proper documentation and recordkeeping.
• Operate various machines to fulfill plant demands.
• Assist with sanitation, housekeeping, and employee training.
• Support maintenance with machine repairs or troubleshooting.
• Adhere to all safety, sanitation, GMP, and food safety policies and report nonconformities.
• Perform essential duties successfully and accommodate individuals with disabilities as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in food manufacturing, especially in dairy or cheese industry, preferred.
