Job summary

gpac is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a Miami, FL area role. The position is full-time and local, with no overnight travel, and primarily shop-based work with occasional field service to local job sites.

You will diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and maintain service records. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience and strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic, preferably within heavy civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Experience working on excavators, dozers, loaders, cranes, and other heavy construction equipment.
• Relevant mechanical certifications or technical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment and machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine servicing.
• Work on hydraulic, diesel, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and complete necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
• Service and repair equipment primarily in the shop, with occasional visits to local Miami-area job sites.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Follow company safety procedures and equipment maintenance standards.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Heavy Civil Construction

Location: Miami, FL

Position: Full-Time | Local | No Overnight Travel

One of our clients, a highly respected and well-established heavy civil contractor with a strong presence throughout the East Coast, is looking to add experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics to their team in the Miami, Florida area!

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• Experience with drilling rigs, pile-driving equipment, or foundation machinery is highly desirable!
• Ability to independently diagnose and repair complex equipment issues.
• Relevant mechanical certifications or technical training preferred.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety.
