Job summary

Chemsteel Construction Company has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Project Engineer to join our Pittsburgh Operations Team. The Project Engineer handles the technical, procurement, and document control disciplines required to successfully execute heavy industrial construction projects.

Working closely with the Project Manager and Site Superintendent, the Project Engineer will manage the flow of information and monitor field quality and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in industrial construction preferred but not required.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Generate, log, track, and process RFIs and submittals to keep data flowing.
• Evaluate drawings revisions and contract changes for cost impacts.
• Maintain project records and closeout documentation.
• Interpret blueprints and equipment diagrams.
• Coordinate on-site measurements and layout verifications.
• Develop and update the master construction schedule using Primavera P6.
• Monitor daily labor, equipment, and supplier invoices against budget.
• Promote and enforce EHS programs on-site.
• Act as hub for craft workers, onboarding, material deliveries, and scopes of work.
