Qualifications

  • Proven ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Experience supervising foremen, crews, and subcontractors and coordinating DOT projects.
  • Proficiency with daily reporting and basic construction software.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work activities to meet project timelines.
  • Review and interpret plans, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
  • Lead job site safety meetings and enforce safe work practices.
  • Coordinate equipment, materials, and manpower requirements.
  • Monitor production, costs, and progress; resolve issues proactively.
  • Communicate with project managers on schedule, costs, and field conditions.
  • Coordinate inspections with owners, engineers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and job site documentation.
  • Support quality control and ensure work meets contract standards.
  • Assist with training and mentoring foremen and field personnel.
  • Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Job description

Karvo Companies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Highway Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage all field operations on roadway and infrastructure projects. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements and company standards.

The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader, coordinating crews, foremen, subcontractors, equipment, and materials while maintaining strong communication with project management, owners, inspectors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily field operations for heavy highway and civil construction projects

Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
  • OSHA 30
  • First Aid / CPR
  • DOT or state highway construction certifications
  • Work zone traffic control certification
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to walk active jobsites and perform field inspections
  • Willingness to work extended hours as project schedules require
