Job summary

Knife River - MT in Kalispell, MT seeks an experienced heavy haul driver to deliver equipment and materials to commercial construction sites. You will operate a truck with a flatbed/lowboy setup, load and unload heavy components, and secure loads using chains and binders while ensuring compliance with load measurements and DOT rules.

Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years in heavy haul transport, a valid Class A CDL with tanker and doubles/triples endorsements, and a current medical card.

Qualifications

• 3 years of heavy haul transport driving experience.
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift, push, pull and be on your feet for long periods.
• Pass a pre‑employment drug screening and background check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver equipment and materials to commercial construction projects in a safe and efficient manner.
• Operate a truck pulling a flatbed trailer equipped to transport mining components and heavy equipment.
• Load and unload equipment from a lowboy trailer and secure loads with chains and binders.
• Ensure load height, length, and width comply with regulations and obtain required permits as needed.
• Maintain accurate driver paperwork and adhere to DOT heavy haul requirements.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Deliver equipment and materials to commercial construction projects in a safe and efficient manner
• Operate a truck pulling a flatbed trailer equipped to transport mining components and heavy equipment
• Have operational knowledge of heavy equipment to be hauled and ability to load and unload equipment from a lowboy trailer
• Measure load height, length and width
• Use chains and binders to secure equipment and components
• Have working knowledge of DOT heavy haul permitting
• Maintain equipment, accurate driver paperwork and legal load limits
• Be willing to drive other commercial motor vehicles such as a water truck, side dump and end dump

Minimum Qualifications

• 3 years of heavy haul transport driving experience
• Valid Class A CDL, tanker and doubles/triples endorsements, medical card
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift, push, pull and be on your feet for long periods of time
• Ability to work flexible shifts which include days, nights, some weekends
• Assure all safety procedures are followed
• Pass a pre‑employment drug screening and background check
