Job summary

WW Clyde is seeking an experienced Heavy Haul Equipment Transport Driver to move oversized and overweight equipment across construction sites in Arizona with potential out-of-state travel. The role requires dedicated safety, route planning, and load securement expertise to ensure compliant and timely deliveries.

The candidate should have a valid Class A CDL with Doubles/Triples, Hazmat, and Tanker endorsements or the ability to obtain them, along with a DOT medical certificate.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years in heavy haul transport experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid Class A CDL with Doubles/Triples, Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or ability to obtain.
• Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
• Knowledge of oversized/overweight hauling rules and regulations.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Overnight travel required.
• Basic computer skills (Email, Smartphone, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Operate, load, and unload oversized/overweight equipment with secure loads.
• Review route permits and safety provisions for each trip.
• Prepare and stow vehicle, trailer, and equipment before/after trips.
• Comply with DOT and local laws and weight/load limits.
• Document and report any machine damage.
• Ensure manifests are accurate and complete.
• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Perform maintenance on mechanical/hydraulic trailers as needed.
• Maintain safety standards and DOT compliance.
• Others as assigned.

Overview

Job Title: Heavy Haul Equipment Transport Driver

Job Summary: The transport driver is primarily responsible to transport heavy equipment across the valley.

LOCATIONS: Various Construction sites throughout Arizona. *Some out of state travel required*

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates, loads, and unloading of oversized and/or overweight equipment and ensure that all loads are properly prepared, loaded, and secured before the vehicle proceeds to avoid shifting, loosening, or falling while in route; perform a thorough pre- and post-check to inspect the load and truck before and after each stop
• Ability to read and review permit for route, special considerations, and safety provisions
• prepare before and stow away after each trip the vehicle, trailer, and all auxiliary equipment such as chains , straps, blocks, and gears
• Comply with all DOT, state, and local traffic and highway laws, rules and regulations and safely operate all equipment in compliance with all legal weight and load size limits
• Take pictures of questionable machine damage and report immediately
• Ensure all items transported are on the manifest are accurate and error free
• Performs general maintenance, minor repairs, and regular service on mobile equipment and equipment daily as directed by supervisor
• Mechanical and hydraulic trailer experience as well as skills to perform minor maintenance on equipment as required

Education and/or Experience

• Minium of 3 years of experience in Heavy Haul Transport- REQUIRED
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid Class A CDL with Doubles/Triples, Hazmat, and Tanker endorsements or the ability to obtain endorsements is required
• Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate is required
• Basic knowledge and understanding of all oversized/overweight hauling rules and regulations on federal, state, county, and city jurisdictions is required
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test is required
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is required
• Acceptable MVR in accordance with Blount Company Vehicle Program policy is required
• Overnight travel will be required
• Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat in excess of 100 degrees, cold, and rain
• Basic Computer Skills Required (Email, Smart Phone, Excel)
