Job summary

WW Clyde in Arizona seeks a Heavy Haul Equipment Transport Driver responsible for moving oversized and overweight equipment across the valley and at construction sites statewide. Duties include loading and securing loads, reviewing permits, performing pre- and post-trip checks, complying with DOT rules, and performing basic maintenance on equipment.

Requires 18+, valid Class A CDL with Doubles/Triples, Hazmat, Tanker endorsements, a DOT Medical Card, ability to travel overnight, and strong

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid Class A CDL with Doubles/Triples, Hazmat, and Tanker endorsements or ability to obtain endorsements.
• Valid DOT Medical Certificate is required.
• Knowledge of oversized/overweight hauling rules across multiple jurisdictions.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Overnight travel may be required.
• Basic computer skills (Email, Smartphone, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Load, secure, and unload oversized/overweight equipment with proper restraints.
• Review permits and route considerations before travel and ensure compliance with safety provisions.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain the vehicle and trailer.
• Comply with DOT and local regulations and safety standards.
• Document loads and report any equipment issues; perform minor maintenance as directed.
• Operate hydraulic trailer safely and adhere to weight and size limits.

Overview

Job Title: Heavy Haul Equipment Transport Driver

Job Summary: The transport driver is primarily responsible to transport heavy equipment across the valley.

LOCATIONS: Various Construction sites throughout Arizona. *Some out of state travel required*

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates, loads, and unloading of oversized and/or overweight equipment and ensure that all loads are properly prepared, loaded, and secured before the vehicle proceeds to avoid shifting, loosening, or falling while in route; perform a thorough pre- and post-check to inspect the load and truck before and after each stop
• Ability to read and review permit for route, special considerations, and safety provisions
• prepare before and stow away after each trip the vehicle, trailer, and all auxiliary equipment such as chains , straps, blocks, and gears
• Comply with all DOT, state, and local traffic and highway laws, rules and regulations and safely operate all equipment in compliance with all legal weight and load size limits
• Take pictures of questionable machine damage and report immediately
• Ensure all items transported are on the manifest are accurate and error free
• Performs general maintenance, minor repairs, and regular service on mobile equipment and equipment daily as directed by supervisor
• Mechanical and hydraulic trailer experience as well as skills to perform minor maintenance on equipment as required

Education and/or Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is required
• Acceptable MVR in accordance with Blount Company Vehicle Program policy is required
• Overnight travel will be required
• Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat in excess of 100 degrees, cold, and rain
• Basic Computer Skills Required (Email, Smart Phone, Excel)
