Job summary

JB Harris Transportation LLC is seeking a highly organized Heavy Haul Dispatcher to coordinate transportation of oversized loads. The role focuses on scheduling, route optimization, load coordination, and regulatory compliance from our Georgia-based office.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of dispatch experience in heavy equipment transportation, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of logistics technology.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of dispatcher experience, preferably in heavy equipment or specialized transportation.
• Strong knowledge of transportation logistics, routing, and regulatory requirements for oversized loads.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with drivers, customers, and agencies.
• Proven problem-solving abilities to handle delays, detours, and regulatory issues.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch Operations: schedule and dispatch heavy haul trucks for timely transport.
• Route Planning: optimize routes considering load dimensions, weight, and permits.
• Load Coordination: coordinate with customers, drivers, and third-party carriers.
• Regulatory Compliance: ensure shipments meet federal, state, and local requirements and obtain permits.
• Communication: provide real-time updates with stakeholders and troubleshoot issues.
• Problem Solving: resolve delays, breakdowns, and route changes quickly and effectively.
• Documentation: maintain records of dispatch activities, load details, and compliance.
• Safety: enforce safe practices and driver compliance with regulations.
• Technology Utilization: use dispatch software to track shipments and driver locations.
