Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician II to join the Public Works Fleet Division. The role involves maintaining and repairing vehicles and equipment of all sizes, diagnosing engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems, and providing on-site emergency service.

The ideal candidate has hands-on repair experience, ASE certification preferred, and must obtain a CDL Class B with airbrake endorsement within six months, plus a Kansas

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in repair and maintenance.
• ASE certification preferred but not mandatory.
• CDL Class B with airbrake endorsement within six months.
• Valid Kansas driver's license required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform maintenance and major repairs on gasoline and diesel engines, manual and automatic transmissions, differentials, brakes, suspension, electrical, fuel, cooling, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Perform chassis and suspension repairs, including alignments.
• Perform tire inspections, repairs, and replacements on automotive and equipment vehicles.
• Conduct automotive and equipment air conditioning service and repairs.
• Perform welding and fabricating functions as needed.
• Repair small engine equipment and components.
• Provide emergency road service, towing, and on-site repairs when required.
• Operate equipment as directed during emergency situations within Wyandotte County.
• Assist other technicians with complex repairs and special projects.
• Maintain and service car wash systems, fuel pumps, gates, and other Fleet-related equipment as assigned.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and departmental policies to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
• Perform related duties as required or directed by the supervisor.
