Job summary

Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician I to maintain and repair UG-owned vehicles and equipment at the Central Garage. You will diagnose issues, perform routine servicing, and ensure safe operation of the fleet.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with experience in repair and maintenance. ASE certification is preferred, and candidates must be able to obtain a CDL Class B with airbrake endorsement within six months.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair on Unified Government-owned vehicles.
• Repair small engine equipment and related components.
• Provide emergency road service as needed; assist other technicians as required.
• Operate equipment as directed in emergencies at the Central Garage.
