Job summary

MaineDOT is seeking a Welder/Fabricator at our Augusta Headquarters to fabricate, repair, and maintain metal components for heavy construction and snow removal operations. Duties include working from blueprints, fabricating structures, and overseeing welding tasks for fleet equipment.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years experience in welding, metal fabrication, and related fields.
• Basic knowledge of metallurgical science.
• Experience interpreting blueprints and plans.
• Ability to read technical handbooks.

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate metal structures, fittings, and components.
• Disassemble, design, assemble, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and fleet vehicles.
• Operate welding and fabrication equipment and oversee others performing welding duties.
• Troubleshoot and repair construction equipment and industrial machinery.
