Maine Department of Transportation is seeking a Welder/Fabricator at Augusta Headquarters to fabricate, repair, and maintain metal structures and equipment for construction and snow removal operations. Responsibilities include disassembly, design, and overseeing welding tasks, with experience on heavy equipment preferred.

Candidate should be able to read blueprints, work with hydraulic systems, and operate industrial shop tools while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years experience, education, and/or training in welding, metal fabrication, and/or related field.
• Must obtain a State of Maine Class B CDL with air endorsements and pass the MaineDOT Welder Certification as a condition of probation.

Responsabilités

• Perform welding and fabrication, maintenance and repair of metal objects and equipment.
• Disassemble, design, assemble, and repair heavy construction vehicles and equipment.
• Oversee others engaged in welding duties and ensure safety compliance.
