Foley Power Solutions in the United States is seeking a skilled heavy equipment mechanic to perform repair and preventive maintenance on CAT earthmoving equipment. You will diagnose issues, replace parts, and test operations in a shop environment, with some travel for training and support at other locations.

Candidates should have basic mechanical knowledge and be able to read specifications, with experience in electrical and hydraulic systems.

Job Overview

Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on heavy machinery, diagnose and troubleshoot problems, make recommendations for repairs and perform critical repairs and adjustments. Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision. Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments. Develop and maintain long-lasting working relationships with customers. Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations. This role involves hands-on mechanical work in a shop environment.

Physical Requirements

• Safely and repeatedly lifting components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance
• Safely lifting, carrying, and lowering components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance
• Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials
• Climbing on and off equipment and working at varying heights
• Standing, bending, and working in physically demanding positions for extended periods
• Safely operating tools and equipment

Qualifications & Skills

• Basic mechanical knowledge including electrical and hydraulics
• General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools, and instruments
• Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
• Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with CAT earthmoving equipment)
