Job summary

Monroe Tractor is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to diagnose and repair complex hydraulic and electrical systems on agricultural machinery. A strong agricultural background is preferred and a valid driver’s license is required.

The role focuses on ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently, with emphasis on independent work, excellent customer service, and teamwork. Ongoing training and safety compliance are essential in daily duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
• Proven experience on large agricultural machinery or heavy equipment.
• Familiarity with GPS/ precision farming technology is a major plus.
• Strong independent work ethic and ability to work with a team.
• Excellent customer service skills and relationship building.
• Clear and concise communications.
• Able to manage time with urgency.
• Computer skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds independently.

Responsibilities

• Use diagnostic equipment to find faults in hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Read electrical schematics, hydraulic flow charts, and manuals to guide repairs.
• Follow checklists to ensure all parts are examined.
• Inspect safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Test-drive equipment to verify repairs.
• Attend training and track factory bulletins.
• Build positive relationships with customers to boost satisfaction.
• Complete all work per supervisor instructions and safety requirements.
• Keep workspace organized and clean.
• Follow manufacturer policies for labor operations and repair orders.
