Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District is seeking a skilled heavy equipment mechanic to maintain and repair machinery at the Regional Disposal Facility. Qualifications

• Must have 5 years of experience with mechanics, plumbing, welding, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Thorough knowledge of operation and repairs to mechanical equipment.
• Must be able to read operation manuals, schematics, blueprints, and safety data sheets.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and performs routine preventive maintenance and repair to District machinery and equipment.
• Performs advanced diagnostics and repairs on equipment such as backhoes, tractors, bulldozers, landfill compactors, articulated dump trucks, motor graders, tipper, etc.
• May perform rough plumbing and welding.
• Performs additional mechanical duties as required.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
