Job summary

Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. seeks a Technical Trainer to lead training for service technicians and customers on heavy equipment, including engines, hydraulics, and safety programs.

You will deliver hands-on and classroom sessions, prepare training materials and ensure consistent on-site presence. The role requires MSHA and OSHA safety training delivery, strong communication, and the ability to travel to branches and events extensively.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in technical/heavy equipment repair.
• Proficiency with engines, hydraulics, electrical and braking systems.
• MSHA/OSHA safety training knowledge or experience is beneficial.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Ability to travel to branches, schools and events as needed.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as product expert to train service technicians and customers on equipment repair and maintenance.
• Provide manufacturer training and develop hands-on classroom sessions.
• Develop training materials and adopt adult-learning practices.
• Deliver aerial platform safety training for rental and service staff.
• Provide MSHA safety training for various staff roles.
• Supply OSHA-certified safety training to customers as requested.
• Travel to branches and events to deliver training 70%+ of the time.
• Perform other duties and ensure reliable on-site attendance.
