Job summary

Idaho Forest Group is seeking a Heavy Equipment Tech in Lewiston, ID to maintain and service heavy machinery, perform scheduled PMs, diagnostics, and emergency repairs to extend equipment life and reduce breakdowns.

The role requires reading blueprints, using CMMS for detailed logs, and adhering to safety protocols while coordinating with operators and supervisors on maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

• Four year mechanical training in vocational/technical school or equivalent work experience in heavy duty mechanic field.
• Ability to adjust work schedule, perform shift work, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.
• Valid driver's license and welding certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and diagnostic checks on rolling stock and heavy equipment.
• Service and maintain all rolling stock; operate rolling stock as needed.
• Identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and other system issues and perform repairs or component replacements.
• Utilize CMMS to log repairs, maintenance, and inspections to ensure safety compliance.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals to guide maintenance work.
