Job summary

Republic Services in Meridian, Idaho is seeking a Heavy Equipment - PM Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on trucks and heavy equipment, including diesel engines, to keep operations safe and productive.

You will inspect vehicles, service fluids and filters, grease and adjust systems, document work times and parts usage, and input data into the Dossier/Fleet Management System.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills with MS Excel and word processing.
• OSHA Haz Com, Lock Out Tag Out, and Fire Protection knowledge.
• Mechanical Trade School certificate or degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance and basic repairs on electrical, diesel and gasoline vehicles, including compactor, excavator, wheel loader, and other vehicles.
• Inspects truck and/or heavy equipment for condition, operation and fluid levels.
• Power washes equipment as necessary and checks/changes fluids and filters.
• Greases, oils and lubricates components during preventive maintenance service; performs adjustments.
• Documents parts usage and times, and records input into Dossier/ Fleet Management Software.
• Follows safety policies; drives equipment in and out of repair area.
• Completes daily consumables report and inputs data into Fleet Management System.
