Job summary

Republic Services in Fresno, TX is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate a range of light and heavy machinery at our hazardous waste treatment facility or landfill. You will support unloading trucks, stabilize waste, and perform post-treatment sampling and loading for shipment.

The role requires 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain), experience with equipment operation, basic vehicle inspection skills, and the ability to multitask while maintaining high safety

Qualifications

• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (with 8-hour refresher) or ability to pass course upon hire.
• Experience operating light and heavy equipment.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle inspection and maintenance, including check tire pressure and oil/water levels.
• Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists in off-loading trucks and unloading waste.
• Operates equipment to stabilize and handle waste.
• Processes treatment of materials and containers.
• Samples post-treated materials for testing by laboratory.
• Loads cleared post-treatment materials for shipment to landfill or disposal.
• Performs general preventative maintenance to equipment and housekeeping.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
