Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Indiana is seeking an Equipment Operator to bale and load waste, perform daily inspections, and maintain machinery.

You will operate at assigned sites, use a two-way radio for coordination, and follow all safety, regulatory and policy guidelines. Responsibilities include greasing, fluid checks, and assisting with other tasks as needed while maintaining grounds and complying with safety meetings.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, speak, understand and write English.
• High school diploma or GED (desired but not required).
• Forklift certification and transfer station/landfill operations certification if needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to bale and load waste into trailers.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Grease and lubricate equipment; check and add fluids daily.
• Steer, guide or drive equipment at the site using controls.
• Substitute for another operator as needed.
• Clean trash from tracks of heavy equipment daily.
• Use two-way radio to communicate priorities and activities.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Maintain grounds and facility appearance.
• Attend safety and branch meetings.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
