Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC in North Carolina is hiring an Equipment Operator responsible for operating heavy equipment to remove branches and tree material from electrical lines. CDL preferred, driver license required, and willingness to travel to multiple job sites.

The role involves maintaining and transporting equipment, applying herbicide on ROW per safety rules, and working in all weather conditions. You will follow safety protocols and wear hearing protection around noisy machinery.

Qualifications

• Driver license required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to identify tree and shrub species; familiar with electrical hazards.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment such as Bulldozers, Backhoes, Skid Steers, Excavators, Loaders, Dump trucks, Mowers and Stump grinders.
• Transport equipment to and from multi-state job locations.
• Install and remove gates, fences, barb wire.
• Install and remove culverts, rocks and base.
• Work on prepared rock and base by highways, side roads and on the right-of-way.
• Use a chainsaw to cut brush, logs and stumps of larger trees.
• Gathers brush and feeds brush into wood chipper.
• Apply chemical herbicide to right-of-way, following brush removal when applicable.
• Utilize hose and spray nozzle from truck-mounted spray equipment or a backpack sprayer.
• Service truck, chipper, and equipment, keeping them in good order.
• Assist senior spray person in mixing herbicide in holding tank.
• Work around hazardous equipment.
• Wear hearing protection around loud machinery.
• Work in all weather and environments; exposure to irritants, insects, dust, etc.
• Work on unleveled ground.
• Work around falling limbs with protection.
