Job summary

City of Alice, TX seeks a skilled Equipment Operator to maintain and repair City utility installations. You will operate a range of heavy and light equipment to excavate, move, and grade earth, following safety rules and work orders.

Qualified candidates have at least 5 years of heavy equipment experience, a valid Texas driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to read and follow detailed instructions while prioritizing workload under supervision.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 5+ years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate bulldozer, loader, grader, backhoe, trackhoe, compactor, and water trucks.
• Attach attachments to equipment with clevis or wedge pins.
• Connect hydraulic hoses, belts, and power takeoff to provide attachment power.
• Grease, oil, and perform minor repairs on equipment.
• Drive equipment over terrain to achieve specified grades per grade stakes or signals.
• Follow all safety protocols and promote a safe work environment.
• Exercise good judgment with little supervision.
