Job summary

Gregory Construction in Fort Stockton, Texas, is seeking a reliable equipment operator to join our civil, industrial, and commercial projects. You will operate heavy machinery, level roadbeds, and read grades while coordinating with the crew on a daily basis.

The role requires 3+ years in civil construction, 2+ years of heavy equipment experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel to multiple job sites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in civil construction
• At least 2 years of verifiable heavy equipment operating experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to travel to multiple job sites
• Able to pass pre-employment screening (including drug screen and background check)
• Strong work ethic and team-first mindset
• Takes safety seriously and communicates well with the crew

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to move dirt, rock, and other materials
• Spread, grade, and level materials on roadbeds and job sites
• Read grade and adjust machine settings as needed
• Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections
• Coordinate with crew members using hand and audio signals
• Load and transport materials using equipment and trucks
• Inspect, clean, maintain, and assist with minor equipment repairs
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions and flexible hours (including nights/weekends as needed)
• Follow all safety rules, company policies, and jobsite procedures
• Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or incidents to your supervisor
