Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a temporary heavy equipment operator to support aggregate production at our Granite Falls, WA site for an expected duration of 6 months.

You will perform pre-operational inspections, monitor material flow and quality, and maintain safe, efficient operations while coordinating with team members. This role offers union benefits and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

  • Safely operate heavy equipment in a mining environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety procedures and situational awareness.
  • Mechanical aptitude to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Reliable, cooperative, and able to communicate clearly.
  • Familiarity with MSHA regulations; Part 46 training is a plus.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Safely operate a variety of heavy and fixed plant equipment to support daily aggregate production
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine equipment checks to ensure safe, reliable performance
  • Monitor material flow, production quality, and operating conditions, making adjustments as needed
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate activities and maintain efficient operations
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety regulations and promoting a safety-first culture
What Are We Looking For
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy equipment in a mining environment
  • Strong knowledge of safety procedures with high situational awareness
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and resolve equipment issues
  • Reliable and collaborative approach with clear and effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow operational procedures, adapt to changing priorities, and familiarity with MSHA regulations, with Part 46 training considered an asset
Conditions of Employment
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
  • Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing

Work Environment
  • Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level
What We Offer
  • $45.09 to $46.12 per hour
