City of Great Falls responsibilities include constructing, maintaining and repairing the city’s street network. Operate trucks and heavy equipment, snow and ice removal, sanding, and material hauling to and from work sites.

Under the Street & Traffic Manager and Superintendent, the role requires knowledge of road restoration, traffic control, and safe, efficient operations in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience in heavy equipment operation or two years of street construction, maintenance and repair is desirable.
• Class A CDL with Air Brake and Tanker Endorsement required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• FMCSA Clearinghouse registration required for CDL drivers.
• Substantial knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance, materials and practices of street construction and snow/ice control.
• Ability to follow verbal/written instructions and maintain written records.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the public.
• Knowledge of Street Divisions Standard Operating Procedures and Best Management Practices.
• Ability to work safely and follow Safety Policies.

Responsabilités

• Operates trucks and heavy equipment in snow and ice removal, sanding operations and hauling materials to and from work sites.
• Operates heavy equipment in repair and restoration of the city’s road and street networks.
• Sets up traffic control devices and equipment; performs asphalt and concrete work; fills cracks and potholes in roads and streets.
