Job summary

Ivy H. Smith Company, LLC is seeking an Operator Power Construction Equipment to operate heavy machinery at construction sites, ensuring safety and precision while restoring worksites to optimal condition.

The role supports storm responses and routine operations, delivering quality results across diverse scenarios. The ideal candidate will have basic equipment operation experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work extended hours and odd shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Six months of supervised equipment operation experience
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours
• Valid state driver’s license with at least two years of driving experience and clean record
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor
• Willingness to travel for storm response as needed

Responsibilities

• Operate diesel or gasoline-powered equipment at job sites and during transit
• Perform general construction tasks and physical labor
• Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain safe work conditions
• Restore excavated areas by backfilling trenches and leveling surfaces
• Travel for storm response with short notice
• Identify voltages and associated hazards and maintain safe distances
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure quality workmanship
