Job summary

Firstech Environmental Solutions seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator for remediation projects in New Jersey. The role requires operating heavy equipment, preparing sites, and assisting contractors while maintaining strict safety standards.

Experience with site remediation and on-site crew supervision is valued. A NJ CDL Class A is preferred; HazWOPER certification is a plus, with willingness to obtain training as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Site remediation supervision experience with an on-site crew.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license (CDL Class A preferred).
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or willingness to obtain & annual 8-hour refresher.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work safely in field conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent; willingness to learn and follow site protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of heavy equipment on remediation sites.
• Prepare construction sites by digging, moving dirt or compacting soil as needed.
• Provide assistance to contractors and crafts on site.
• Train other field staff on experienced tasks and learn from coworkers.
• Follow health and safety regulations and wear PPE at all times.
• Ensure equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly; complete tasks timely.

For 30 years, Firstech Environmental, Inc., located in Farmingdale, NJ has been a leader in the environmental industry for site remediation, UST closure, general site work and we are interviewing for the following job position:Heavy Equipment Operator for Site Remediation Projects:Minimum 3 years of experience with heavy equipmentSkillfully operate various types of equipmentSite remediation and supervisory experience working with an on-site crewMust have a valid and clean (no points) New Jersey driver's licenseCDL Class A preferredComplete previous projects or receive new project instructions from supervisorProactively communicate with company personnel as requiredFollow instructions and use tools and equipment to complete daily tasksHave or willing to obtain 40-hr.
