CDL Enhancement: Additional $10,000.00

This position is responsible for operating a sewer Jet-Vac Truck.

1. Assist with the operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer system.
2. Operate a Jet-Vacuum or Jet truck to clean sewer pipelines, manholes, and wetwells.
3. Inspect equipment before use to ensure proper operating condition.
4. Repair and replace the Jet Vac hose, maintain the vacuum truck, clean and lubricate daily, and empty debris tanks.
5. Operate two-way radio following proper protocol.
6. Respond to customer service requests and sewer force main breaks.
7. Unclog and clear sewer lines in streets, yards, or lanes.
8. Read sewer maps and write reports, such as sewer overflow reports.
9. Operate computer daily.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, with two years of heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must possess and maintain a valid state commercial driver's license (Class A or B).

Additional Requirements: Background check, drug screening, medical exam, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses prior to employment.

Knowledge of heavy equipment operation, water distribution, sewer systems, safety rules, and city geography.

Skills in map reading and operating various equipment.

Minimum Standards:

Work is assigned by supervisors with spot checks for compliance. Guidelines include city policies and safety regulations. The work involves operating heavy equipment in narrow lanes and around utilities, adding to its complexity.

The position contributes to sewer system efficiency. Contacts are with co-workers, city employees, and the public, mainly for information exchange and problem resolution.

Physical demands include sitting, standing, lifting, climbing, and dexterity. Work environment varies from indoor facilities to outdoor sites with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and weather, requiring protective gear.

No supervisory or management responsibilities.
