Job summary

Nucor Corporation is seeking a dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Utah. You will participate in year-round yard operations, safely operating heavy equipment, loading materials, and coordinating with teams via radio to ensure safe and efficient production flow.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in heavy equipment, strong safety awareness, physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to work overtime in an industrial outdoor setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of heavy equipment operation in manufacturing environments, preferably scrap metal or construction.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate forklift/skid steer when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including cranes and loaders.
• Load scrap material onto shredder feed conveyor and move materials throughout the yard.
• Load trucks and railcars and perform daily equipment inspections.
• Keep grounds clear of debris and maintain safety standards.
• Communicate over radio with teammates for traffic coordination and safety procedures.
• Be willing to cross-train in other positions and assist others as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
