Job summary

SA Recycling, a world leader in metals recycling, is seeking an Equipment Operator to handle heavy equipment like Liebherr or Sennebogen material handlers and Volvo loaders in outdoor yard settings. You will load/unload containers, move scrap material, and ensure safe, efficient operations according to company standards.

The role requires watching equipment conditions, following safety protocols, and potential bilingual communication in English/Spanish.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• 1 year experience running Volvo front end loaders and/or Liebherr or Sennebogen material handlers in scrap or related industries preferred.
• Bi-lingual English and Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operations inspections of assigned equipment.
• Ensure equipment is operational to minimize downtime.
• Determine load weights and verify against lifting capabilities.
• Operate machines to move vehicles for decommissioning and load trucks or train cars.
• Aid in yard organization to meet production goals.
• Perform routine maintenance (fueling, lubrication, cleaning).
• Submit daily loader inspections and report issues to supervisor.
• Comply with safety, health, and environmental rules and procedures.
