Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Orlando, FL is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to support scrap metal processing operations. You will drive cranes, loaders, and forklifts, load materials, and keep the yard organized while maintaining strict safety standards.

You’ll participate in safety meetings, perform routine inspections, and adapt to shift demands, including overtime and weekends, in a fast-paced industrial environment. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience operating heavy equipment.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with safety first.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety procedures and rules.
• Able to follow written and oral instructions.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including cranes and loaders.
• Load scrap material onto shredder feed conveyor and move material around the yard.
• Perform daily inspections on equipment and report defects.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards across the work area.
• Communicate with team via radio for production and safety.
• Cross-train in other positions and assist as needed.
