Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely operate heavy mobile equipment at a mining and aggregate facility in Colorado. This role supports extraction, processing, and stockpile management, while upholding a safety-first culture and performing cross-functional duties as needed.

You will perform daily inspections, PM tasks, assist mechanics, comply with MSHA regulations, and help maintain dust control and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience.
• Technical training and vocational certification is preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of heavy equipment experience in mining, quarry, or construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate entry-to-mid-level mobile equipment (Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Front-End Loaders).
• Transport raw materials from the pit to the crusher and move finished products to stockpiles.
• Maintain stockpile integrity to prevent contamination.
• Operate water trucks for dust control and maintain berms, ramps, and traffic flow.
• Conduct daily inspections of brakes, steering, fluids, tires, and gauges.
• Perform routine PM tasks and assist mechanics with minor repairs.
• Use SOPs to report equipment issues to maintenance promptly.
• Operate in compliance with MSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Participate in Guardian Angel safety program and wear PPE.
• Ensure environmental standards for dust control and spill prevention.
• Assist in plant operations when not operating equipment (manual labor, housekeeping).
• Maintain radio/hand-signals communications with plant operators.
• Accurately complete production logs and safety forms.
