Job summary

PRIDE Industries seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to maintain roads, parking facilities, airfields, and firebreaks using cranes, shovels, rollers, and large tractors. A valid Class A Hazmat End and a valid driver's license are required, with potential CDL considerations.

Qualifications

• One year of work experience in roads and ground maintenance, or demonstrated ability to properly use heavy equipment.
• CDL or other special classification of operators’ license may be required.
• Mathematics to calculate material usage, logs, time sheets, and to use measuring tools and devices.
• Knowledge of vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance practices, repairs and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment used in excavation, backfilling, and loading operations.
• Monitors equipment, structures, materials, and environment to detect problems and determine solutions.
• Reads grade and slope stakes and simple plans.
• Manages materials and time; orders needed materials and accounts for materials on paper.
