Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Greenville, MS is seeking a skilled power construction equipment operator to excavate, move and grade material on diverse sites.

Primary duties include loading, hauling, and smoothing roads, trenching for culverts and pipes, inspecting equipment, and assisting with safety training and daily maintenance. Must meet physical requirements and be able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions; communicate with supervision.
• Proficient use of hand tools, power tools, layout tools and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles and large heavy equipment; perform maintenance and repairs on roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts, water pipes and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check and maintain fluid levels and lubrication of equipment.
• May train employees in safe operation and job techniques.
