Job summary

Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe is seeking a skilled heavy equipment operator to maintain reservation roads and perform routine servicing and minor repairs on equipment. Must hold a MN CDL license or be insurable, with ability to obtain higher-class licenses within specified timeframes.

Duties include operating loaders and dump trucks, performing road maintenance, and adhering to safety protocols. The role requires working beyond regular hours, including weekends/holidays, and travel within the state

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must have experience operating various heavy equipment (bulldozers, front-end loaders, etc.).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to push, pile or load materials such as sand, earth, gravel or refuse.
• Operate a front-end loader from 1 ½ ton to 4 cubic yard capacity.
• Maneuver materials and transfer to dump trucks as needed.
• Perform routine servicing and minor repairs on engines, brakes, lights, and hydraulics.
• Drive heavy trucks and perform road maintenance tasks on reservation roads.
