Job summary

Peckham Industries, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate and maintain heavy equipment in quarry and plant environments.

The role handles loaders, excavators, rock trucks, and hydraulic hammers to extract, move, process, and stockpile materials while maintaining production flow. You will perform routine inspections, assist with maintenance, and collaborate with plant personnel to promote safe, continuous operations.

Qualifications

• Three years+ of experience safely operating heavy equipment in quarry, mining, construction, asphalt plant, or similar industrial environment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to assist with routine maintenance.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Operate large loaders, excavators, rock trucks, and hydraulic hammers to extract, move, process, and stockpile materials while maintaining efficient material flow.
• Achieve daily production and quality objectives by loading haul trucks and supporting crushing and screening operations.
• Follow safety policies, site traffic plans, and MSHA regulations; identify and address hazards within the scope of the role.
• Maintain equipment readiness through pre- and post-shift inspections and basic servicing.
• Maintain accurate inspection, production, and safety documentation and participate in safety meetings and training.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, plant operators, mechanics, and teammates to promote safe, coordinated quarry operations.
