Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to work on-site at our Lexington, KY plant. The role involves operating haul trucks, pit trucks, water trucks, forklifts, and other plant equipment, performing pre/post-shift inspections, and assisting with routine maintenance and repairs.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED, and prior heavy equipment experience is preferred. Must be able to work outdoors in variable weather and lift up to 45 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Heavy equipment operator experience preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read, and have working knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment with competence and proficiency.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections and complete daily equipment reports.
• Report unsafe mechanical conditions to supervisor and maintain good housekeeping on equipment.
• Assist with basic maintenance and repairs; follow safety protocols at all times.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in awkward or cramped spaces as needed.
