Skilled Laborer: Heavy Machine Operator

Thompson Thrift is seeking a Skilled Laborer: Heavy Machine Operator to join our team working at our Ranch near Paris, Illinois. The position is full-time and includes great pay, benefits, 401k, PTO, and bonus potential! Join our team today!

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment
• Move, load, or unload materials
• Assist in light construction if necessary
• Perform general site clean-up – remove debris and trash from work site
• Some specialized tasks may require on-the-job training
• Operate trucks of various sizes for loading, hauling, and unloading equipment, materials, and supplies.
• Operate construction and power equipment, including backhoes, man-lifts, dump trucks, snowplows, road graders, front-end loaders, hydraulic excavators, and skid steers.
• Use small equipment and tools such as jackhammers, mowers, and brush chippers.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, reporting defects or needed repairs to the supervisor.
• Clean and maintain equipment.
• Perform all duties in compliance with safety and security standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to work in both outside/inside environmental and atmospheric conditions
• Ability to operate heavy equipment as needed
• Physical demands over 60 pounds
• Ability to work with the team to ensure grounds are picked up on a daily basis, that trash is removed daily, and that any additional jobs are communicated to Manager and Supervisor.

Pre-requisites:

• High school diploma/GED equivalent required
• Must be team-oriented and have a strong work ethic
• Able to stand on your feet for long periods of time
• Able to work in all weather conditions
• Able to lift light to heavy objects

Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
