Job summary

Lumin8 Transportation Technologies is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our team in Virginia Beach. The role involves operating Hydro-Vac Trucks, Bucket Trucks, Cranes, and other heavy machinery on transportation infrastructure projects.

You will inspect and maintain equipment, load/unload gear, and follow safety protocols while coordinating with crew and customers. A strong grounding in project standards and safe operation is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum eight years combined experience as Groundsman/Laborer/Maintenance Technician I or Construction Technician I, and Equipment Operator I.
• Ability to read plans and schematic diagrams.
• Familiar with MUTCD, NEC, CDOT, and project standards.
• Must be able to operate gas torches and basic hand/tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment (Hydro-Vac Trucks, Bucket Trucks, Excavators, Backhoes, Cranes, concrete saws).
• Drive equipment to/from job sites and load/unload.
• Inspect equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments; replace buckets/teeth and tighten bolts.
• Supervise and train subordinate employees as needed.
• Follow safety requirements and wear PPE at all times.
