Job summary

Brevard County's Public Works Department, Roadway and Bridge unit, seeks a skilled equipment operator for permanent full-time work in the South Area/Palm Bay. The role operates and maintains heavy equipment and may perform related manual labor, rotating between machines as needed. A Florida Class A CDL is required before employment and must be maintained.

Three years of experience and passing a proficiency skills test are required. Work schedule is Monday–Friday 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience operating heavy equipment and performing routine maintenance.
• Valid Florida Class A Commercial Driver's License required before employment.
• Must pass a proficiency skills test and be able to operate four types of heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as Track-Hoe, Back Hoe, Road Grader, and Dozer.
• Rotate among multiple pieces of heavy equipment as part of daily duties.
