Job summary

Brays Island Plantation seeks an Equipment Operator II to operate heavy equipment including mowers, dump trucks, backhoes, and loaders, following safety procedures and supervisor instructions.

Qualifications include 1–3 years of heavy equipment experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to read civil plans. The position is full-time and requires flexibility with hours and outdoor work in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Reading and comprehension of English sufficient to understand civil plans.
• Intermediate level of heavy equipment knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the 15’ and 20’ mowers, dump truck and front end loader per supervisor.
• Begin cross training on front end loader, bulldozer, and track hoe in North Field burn pile operations.
• Cross-train on operating motor grader and tree spade truck.
• Operate water truck to apply dust suppression on designated roads.
• Operate backhoe, mower, tree truck, and tractor to haul, load, dig and cut safely.
• Perform minor preventive maintenance on equipment; check gauges, fluids, grease, etc.
• Operate small power tools such as chainsaws, cut-off saws, generators, pumps and compressors.
• Follow all company safety and OSHA regulations related to equipment operation and maintenance.
• May assist in landscape and facilities maintenance departments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
