Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator north of Las Vegas, NV, reporting to the Site Superintendent or HEO-Lead. You will operate cranes, graders, bulldozers, scrapers, and large tractors with attachments to excavate, load, and move materials.

Responsibilities include reading grade stakes and simple plans, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and project standards. High School diploma and Nevada CDL are required; ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prefer 4 years of heavy equipment operator experience through training or apprenticeship.
• Must pass a practical skills test on multiple equipment (backhoe, bulldozer, scraper, road grader, front-end loader).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada CDL.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Fluent in English in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as cranes, graders, loaders, dozers, scrapers, and large tractors.
• Read and interpret grade and slope stakes and simple plans.
• Perform routine maintenance, grease, adjust, and make emergency repairs to equipment.
• Lead independent work groups and ensure quality control.
• Follow safe work practices and government regulations.
