Job summary

Austin Wood Recycling is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our Texas-based team. You will operate a range of equipment to clear and grind trees and to manufacture mulches and soils, ensuring safety and efficiency on every job site.

The role requires flexibility for long hours, outdoors work, and strong collaboration with coworkers to meet production targets while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to work +/- 60 hours per week including Saturdays with overtime
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Capable of sitting, standing, and kneeling for long periods
• Able to climb in/out of equipment repeatedly
• Proficient in operating controls and maneuvering equipment safely
• Must work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Good vision and hearing to operate machinery safely

Responsibilities

• Perform pre/post service inspections on equipment.
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment on job sites or in yards.
• Complete daily service tasks (cleaning radiator/filters, cab interior).
• Submit daily paperwork (inspections, work orders, loader logs).
• Report accidents and injuries to ensure safety.
• Follow all SOPs and safety procedures.
• Wear PPE at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.
