Job summary

D&J Construction Company is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator in Louisiana to perform site grading, excavation, and road construction. You will operate dozers, excavators, and motor graders, interpreting plans and ensuring accuracy on each project.

Responsibilities include pre-operational inspections, routine maintenance, and maintaining safety at all times. Daytime shifts with some overtime may apply, with a focus on efficiency and teamwork on active sites.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, trackhoes, or motor graders.
• Ability to read and interpret grading plans and site layouts.
• Experience in highway construction, site development, or earthmoving is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate dozers, trackhoes (excavators), and motor graders for grading, excavation, and earthmoving tasks.
• Read and interpret grading plans, blueprints, and project specifications to ensure accuracy.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Ensure proper slope, elevation, and grade per project requirements.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, supervisors, and other team members to complete jobs efficiently.
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations, ensuring a safe work environment.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and organization at job sites.
