Job summary

Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction seeks an Equipment Operator to operate multiple types of heavy equipment (backhoe, dozer, excavator, loader, etc.) on job sites, assist with moving materials, digging trenches, and supporting pipe crews.

The role requires safety-conscious workers who can perform labor tasks and adapt to project needs. Expect to work in fast-paced environments; a valid driver’s license is required, with overtime and possible weekendWork.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of heavy equipment operating experience
• Willing to do laborer work
• Ability to work as a team member in a professional manner and positive attitude
• Motivated self-starter with multi-tasking ability
• Able to work safely under pressure with time constraints
• Frequent gross body movements (bending, lifting up to 75 lbs, etc.)
• Good eye-hand coordination and depth perception
• Flexible availability including overtime and weekends
• Clear communication and listening skills

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple types of heavy equipment (backhoe, dozer, excavator, loader, motor grader, scrapers, etc.) to prepare job sites and meet project specs
• Handle attachments and hydraulics; perform trenching, loading, and material movement
• Maintain equipment care, perform light maintenance, and ensure safe operation
• Support pipe crew operations and follow strict safety standards
• Work in fast-paced, high-production environments with minimal supervision
