City of Shreveport is seeking a Driver/Operator, Heavy Equipment to haul workers, materials and tools using trucks over 26,001 pounds. The role involves operating heavy machinery like excavators, graders and loaders in outdoor environments, with local travel to job sites.

Basic inspections, safety compliance and occasional training duties are included. The position may require working with laborers or alone, and entails routine maintenance of equipment and adherence to OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Possess a Commercial Driver's license, type "A".

Responsabilités

• Drive and operate heavy equipment to excavate, grade, level, pull, push, lift and dump earth and other materials.
• May work alone or with laborers.
• Assist in loading and unloading truck.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Comply with risk management and OSHA policies, before, during and after job.
• Train new members on safe work practices.
• Attend required safety, job-related and certification training classes.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
