Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, front end loaders, and other equipment at our site. You will perform inspections, routine maintenance, and on-site roll-off tasks while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

We value reliability, strong English communication, and the ability to work nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., excavator, backhoe, dozer, off-road truck).
• Must pass written and practical tests to be certified for each piece of equipment.
• Hazardous waste training completed within 6 months of employment (specific to Boyd).

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently (bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders).
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document results.
• Maintain and lubricate equipment; perform basic on-site maintenance.
• Conduct site prep, earth moving, landscaping, snow removal, and related tasks.
• Monitor equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safety.
• Interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
